BPSC 72th Prelims Exam Date 2026 Announced - Check Schedule

Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has officially announced the exam date for the 72th Combined Competitive Examination (Prelims) 2026 on 09 July 2026. The Preliminary examination is tentatively scheduled for 13 September 2026. Candidates who have applied for the 72th CCE can check the complete schedule on the official BPSC website at bpsc.bihar.gov.in.

The BPSC 72th CCE notification was released on 01 June 2026 and the application window was open from 02 to 30 June 2026. The recruitment is for various Group A and B posts in the Bihar Government including Deputy Collector, DSP, SDO, and other administrative positions. The selection process includes Prelims (qualifying), Mains (merit-deciding), and Interview.

The Preliminary examination will have 150 objective type questions of 150 marks in 2 hours, with each correct answer carrying 1 mark and each wrong answer carrying a penalty of 0.25 mark (negative marking). The exam covers General Studies (100 questions), General Science (30), Mathematics (10), and Reasoning (10). The medium is both Hindi and English.

Sarkari Notice 247 advises all aspirants to start intensive preparation for the Prelims. With approximately 2 months remaining, candidates should focus on revision and practice tests. The admit card is expected to be released around 01 September 2026. The pay scale for BPSC officers starts at Rs.56100 per month (Level 9) plus DA, HRA, and other allowances.
