NTA CSIR UGC NET June 2026 Online Application Form Released
National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the online application form for the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) June 2026 session on 23 May 2026. Eligible candidates who wish to appear for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET examination for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship in Indian universities and colleges can now apply online through the official website csirnet.nta.ac.in. The last date to apply is 23 June 2026.
The CSIR UGC NET June 2026 examination is conducted twice a year by NTA on behalf of CSIR. The examination is for award of JRF and determination of eligibility for Lectureship in Science subjects including Chemical Science, Earth Science, Life Science, Mathematical Science, and Physical Science. The exam is conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode across various centres in India. The June 2026 session exam is tentatively scheduled for 13-14 July 2026.
To be eligible for CSIR UGC NET, candidates must have an M.Sc. or equivalent degree / BS-MS / BS-4 year / BE / B.Tech / B.Pharm / MBBS with minimum 55% marks for General/OBC (50% for SC/ST/PwD). Candidates pursuing M.Sc. in first year can also apply. For JRF, the maximum age limit is 28 years as on 01 July 2026, with age relaxation for reserved categories and female candidates. For Lectureship, there is no upper age limit. The application fee is Rs.1150 for General, Rs.600 for OBC-NCL, and Rs.325 for SC/ST/PwD categories.
Sarkari Notice 247 advises all eligible candidates to apply early to avoid last-minute rush. The application correction window will be open from 26 to 28 June 2026, during which candidates can correct any mistakes in their application form. The exam will have 150 questions of 200 marks in a single 3-hour session, with negative marking varying by subject. Candidates who qualify for JRF will be eligible for a fellowship of Rs.37000 per month (initially) plus contingency grant, for a period of 2 years (extendable to 5 years as per rules).
