Jharkhand TET JHTET 2026 Online Application Form Extended - Apply Now

Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has officially extended the online application window for the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JHTET) 2026. The original last date was 15 June 2026, which has now been extended to 10 July 2026. Eligible candidates who wish to become teachers in government primary and upper primary schools of Jharkhand can now apply online through the official portal at jactetonline.com. This extension provides a great opportunity for candidates who missed the earlier deadline.

JHTET is a teacher eligibility test conducted by Jharkhand Academic Council for candidates aspiring to become teachers in government schools of Jharkhand. The test is conducted in two papers — Paper 1 for Primary Level (Class 1-5) and Paper 2 for Junior Level (Class 6-8). Candidates who wish to teach both levels need to appear in both papers. The JHTET certificate is valid for lifetime and qualifying the test makes candidates eligible to apply for teaching positions in Jharkhand government schools.

The JHTET 2026 examination is tentatively scheduled for 03 August 2026. Each paper will have 150 objective type questions of 150 marks in 2.5 hours with no negative marking. The qualifying marks are 60% for General category and 55% for SC/ST candidates. The application fee is Rs.1000 for General/OBC (one paper) or Rs.1500 (both papers), and Rs.500 for SC/ST (one paper) or Rs.800 (both papers). The exam covers Child Development & Pedagogy, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, and Language papers.

Sarkari Notice 247 advises all eligible candidates to apply immediately as the extended last date is 10 July 2026. Candidates should keep their educational certificates, B.Ed/D.El.Ed certificate, category certificate, and photograph/signature ready before starting the application. The application correction window will be open from 12 to 14 July 2026. After the exam, the JHTET certificate will be issued to qualifying candidates, which they can use to apply for teaching vacancies in Jharkhand government schools.
