NTA NCET 2026 Online Application Form Released for 4-Year Integrated B.Ed Programme

National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the online application form for the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2026 for admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) on 12 February 2026. Eligible candidates who wish to pursue the integrated B.Ed programme at selected Central/State Universities, IITs, NITs, RIEs, and Government Colleges can now apply online through the official website exams.nta.ac.in/NCET/. The last date to apply is 10 March 2026.

The NCET 2026 is conducted for admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), which is a flagship programme of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). This programme offers an integrated B.Ed degree after 12th, allowing students to become teachers in just 4 years instead of the traditional 5+1 year (graduation + B.Ed) route. The programme is offered in selected prestigious institutions including IITs, NITs, RIEs (Regional Institutes of Education), Central Universities, State Universities, and Government Colleges across India.

To be eligible for NCET 2026, candidates must have passed 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent examination from a recognised board with minimum 50% marks (relaxation for reserved categories as per rules). Candidates appearing in 12th in 2026 are also eligible to apply. There is no specific age limit, but candidates must meet the age criteria of the participating institution. The application fee is Rs.1200 for General, Rs.1000 for Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL, and Rs.650 for SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender categories.

Sarkari Notice 247 advises all aspiring teachers to apply for NCET 2026 as it offers a direct pathway to teaching career after 12th. The exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode on 17 April 2026 across various centres in India. The exam will have 160 questions of 800 marks in a 3-hour session, with each correct answer carrying 5 marks and each wrong answer carrying a penalty of 1 mark (negative marking). The exam covers Language 1, Language 2, Subject Domain, and General Test sections. After qualifying NCET, candidates will be eligible for admission to ITEP programme based on their rank and choice filling during counselling.
