UGC NET June 2026 Admit Card Released — Download Hall Ticket & Exam City Slip
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially activated the download link for the UGC NET June 2026 Admit Card, providing relief to lakhs of candidates who have been preparing for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test. The admit card, along with the exam city intimation slip, can now be accessed through the official portal at ugcnet.nta.ac.in by logging in with the candidate’s application number and date of birth. The examination will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode across multiple sessions and centres throughout India, and the exact exam date and shift will be mentioned on each candidate’s individual admit card.
The UGC NET examination is conducted twice every year to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for appointment as Assistant Professors in universities and colleges across the country. The June 2026 cycle notification was released on 29 April 2026, with the application window open from 29 April 2026 to 24 May 2026 (extended). The application fee was structured as ₹1150 for General category candidates, ₹600 for EWS/OBC candidates, and ₹325 for SC/ST/PH candidates, payable through various online modes including credit card, debit card, net banking, UPI, and wallets.
The eligibility criteria require candidates to hold a Master’s degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) from a recognized university. Candidates appearing in the final year of their Master’s program are also eligible to apply provisionally. For the JRF, the maximum age limit is 31 years as on 01.07.2026, with relaxations of 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Women/Transgender candidates. For the Assistant Professor (NET) certification, there is no upper age limit, making it accessible to candidates of all age groups seeking academic careers.
The examination pattern consists of two papers conducted in a single 3-hour session. Paper 1 comprises 50 questions on general aptitude (teaching and research aptitude, reasoning, comprehension) carrying 100 marks, while Paper 2 contains 100 subject-specific questions carrying 200 marks. There is no negative marking in UGC NET, which encourages candidates to attempt all questions. Top 6% of candidates who clear both papers are declared eligible for JRF and Assistant Professor, while the next 9% qualify only for Assistant Professor. The JRF certificate is valid for 3 years from the date of issue, while the NET certificate remains valid for lifetime.
