UPSC NDA and NA Examination (II) 2026 Online Form Started
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the much-awaited notification for the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II) 2026 with a total of 394 vacancies across Army, Navy, Air Force, and Naval Academy. The online application form is now available at the UPSC official website upsc.gov.in and the last date to submit the application is 15 July 2026. The written examination is scheduled for 13 September 2026.
This is one of the most prestigious defence entrance examinations in India, through which candidates can join the National Defence Academy at Khadakwasla, Pune, and eventually become commissioned officers in the Indian Army, Navy, or Air Force. The examination is open to unmarried male and female candidates who have passed or are appearing in the 12th class examination. For the Army wing, candidates from any stream can apply, but for the Air Force and Naval wing, Physics and Mathematics at the 12th level are mandatory.
The written examination consists of two papers — Paper 1 is Mathematics with 300 marks and 2.5 hours duration, and Paper 2 is the General Ability Test with 600 marks and 2.5 hours duration. Both papers are conducted on the same day in pen-and-paper mode (OMR based). There is a negative marking of 1/3 mark for each wrong answer. Candidates who qualify the written examination will be called for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview, which is a comprehensive 5-day selection process that includes intelligence tests, personality tests, group discussions, and personal interviews.
The application fee is only Rs.100 for General and OBC candidates, while SC/ST, female candidates, and wards of JCO/NCO/OR are exempted from the fee. The age requirement is that candidates must be born between 2 January 2008 and 1 January 2011. Candidates are advised to apply early rather than waiting for the last date, as the UPSC online portal often experiences heavy traffic in the final days.

- Click on "Online Application for Various Examinations"
- Select "NDA & NA Examination (II) 2026" from the list
- Complete Part 1 Registration with basic details (name, DOB, email, mobile)
- Pay the application fee (Rs.100 for Gen/OBC, free for others)
- Complete Part 2 Registration with educational details and exam centre preference
- Upload scanned photograph and signature as per specifications
- Submit the application and take a printout for future reference
