PM Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana 2026 - Rs 3000 Monthly Pension for Farmers from Age 60

Farmers are the backbone of our economy, yet they have no formal pension system. After a lifetime of hard work in the fields, most elderly farmers are forced to depend on their children or work as daily wage labourers even in their 70s. The PM Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana 2026 is designed to fix this. Under this scheme, small and marginal farmers (with land holding up to 2 hectares) aged 18 to 40 can enroll and get a guaranteed Rs 3000 monthly pension from age 60 for the rest of their lives. The farmer contributes a small amount every month (Rs 55 to Rs 200 depending on age), and the government contributes an equal amount. The fund is managed by LIC and the pension is guaranteed by the government.

The contribution structure is what makes this scheme affordable. If you join at age 18, you pay just Rs 55 per month for 42 years (till age 60). The government pays another Rs 55 per month. Total corpus by age 60 is approximately Rs 4.2 lakh, which generates Rs 3000 monthly pension. If you join at age 30, you pay Rs 122 per month for 30 years, and the government matches with Rs 122. If you wait till age 40 to join, the contribution jumps to Rs 200 per month for 20 years. This is why we at Sarkari Notice 247 always tell young farmers - join as early as possible to maximise the benefit.

What most farmers do not know is that the contribution can be auto-deducted from their PM Kisan Samman Nidhi installment. If you are already a PM Kisan beneficiary receiving Rs 2000 every 4 months, the Maan Dhan contribution can be deducted from this installment before it reaches your account. You do not need to maintain separate funds or remember to pay every month. After the farmer death, the spouse continues to receive 50 percent of the pension (Rs 1500 per month) as family pension for their lifetime. After both farmer and spouse pass away, the accumulated corpus is returned to the nominee. Sarkari Notice 247 strongly recommends every eligible farmer between 18 and 40 to enroll in this scheme - it is the cheapest way to secure your old age.

How to Apply for PM Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana 2026

  • Step 1: Check your eligibility: You should be a small or marginal farmer (land holding up to 2 hectares), aged between 18 and 40 years, with cultivable land in your name. You should have Aadhaar card and a bank account linked with Aadhaar.
  • Step 2: Get your documents ready: Aadhaar card, bank passbook (account linked with Aadhaar), land records (khata/khatauni/patta), mobile number linked with Aadhaar, and passport size photograph. If you are a PM Kisan beneficiary, keep your PM Kisan registration number handy.

  • Step 4: At the CSC, the operator will verify your Aadhaar through biometric authentication. They will check your land records through the state database to confirm you are a small or marginal farmer. They will also verify your age through Aadhaar.
  • Step 5: Choose the pension amount (Rs 3000 is the only option) and the monthly contribution will be calculated based on your age. Sign the auto-debit mandate authorising the bank to deduct the contribution every month from your PM Kisan account or savings account.
  • Step 6: After enrollment, you will receive a confirmation SMS with your PM Kisan Maan Dhan account number. The monthly contribution will be auto-debited from your bank account. You can check the contribution history and corpus on the portal.
  • Step 7: The pension will start automatically from age 60. You do not need to apply separately. The Rs 3000 monthly pension will be credited to your Aadhaar-linked bank account every month. After your death, your spouse will receive Rs 1500 per month for their lifetime, and after spouse death, the corpus goes to the nominee.
