PM YASHASVI Scholarship Yojana 2026 - Rs 75000 Per Year for Class 9 11 OBC EBC DNT Students

Education is expensive, especially for families from backward classes where every rupee counts. The PM YASHASVI Scholarship Yojana 2026, officially called Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India, is a game-changer for such families. Under this scheme, students from OBC, EBC, and DNT categories studying in Class 9 and 11 can get Rs 75000 per year as scholarship, which continues till Class 12. That is a total of Rs 3 lakh over 4 years, enough to cover tuition, books, uniform, transport, and even private coaching for competitive exams. The scheme is run by the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation under the Ministry of Social Justice, and the selection is through a written entrance test conducted by the National Testing Agency.

Any student from the eligible category who clears the YASASVI Entrance Test with a good rank gets the scholarship, regardless of which state or village they come from. The entrance test has 100 multiple choice questions from Mathematics, Science, Social Science, General Knowledge, and English, and is conducted in offline OMR mode at centres across India. The difficulty level is moderate, comparable to a state-level scholarship exam, and students who study NCERT textbooks seriously can crack it with 2 to 3 months of focused preparation. The application process is completely online through the NTA portal at yet.nta.ac.in. The scholarship amount is directly credited to the Aadhaar-linked bank account of the student (not the parent), which gives the student financial independence and responsibility. How to Apply for PM YASHASVI Scholarship Yojana 2026

• ☐ Visit the official NTA YASASVI portal at yet.nta.ac.in when the application window opens in July 2026. Click on the Registration link and create an account with your name, email ID, mobile number, and date of birth.
• ☐ After registration, you will receive an application number and password on your email and mobile. Login using these credentials to access the detailed application form.
• ☐ Fill in personal details, parents details, category (OBC/EBC/DNT), income details, school details (current class, school name, medium of instruction), and exam centre preference. Ensure all details match your official documents.
• ☐ Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, Aadhaar card, caste certificate, income certificate (family income less than Rs 2.5 lakh), and previous class marksheet. Each document should be in PDF or JPG format within the specified file size.
• ☐ Pay the application fee online. General and OBC candidates pay Rs 200, while SC, ST, PH, and Female candidates are exempted. Payment can be made through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
• ☐ After fee payment, submit the application form and download the confirmation page. Take a printout for your records. The admit card will be available on the NTA portal 7 to 10 days before the exam date.
• ☐ Start preparing for the YASASVI Entrance Test using NCERT textbooks of previous classes. Focus on Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and General Knowledge. The exam has 100 MCQs of 2 hours duration. Download previous year papers from NTA website for practice.
