UPTET Admit Card 2026 Released — Download Hall Ticket for Primary & Junior Levels

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has officially released the admit card for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026, providing relief to lakhs of aspiring teachers in the state who have been preparing for this mandatory eligibility examination. The UPTET examination is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for teaching positions in government and private schools of Uttar Pradesh at two levels — Primary Level (Class 1-5) and Junior Level (Class 6-8). Candidates who had successfully submitted their online applications between 27 March 2026 and 03 May 2026 (extended) can now download their hall tickets by visiting the official UPESSC website at upessc.up.gov.in or the dedicated admit card portal at admitcards.upessc.org.

The UPTET examination serves as the gateway for any candidate aspiring to become a teacher in Uttar Pradesh, and qualifying this examination is a prerequisite for applying to various teacher recruitment notifications issued by the UP Basic Education Board, aided school managements, and other educational institutions in the state. The notification for UPTET 2026 was issued on 20 March 2026, with the application window initially scheduled to close on 25 April 2026 but extended till 03 May 2026 to allow maximum participation from eligible candidates. The application fee was structured as ₹1000 for General/OBC/EWS candidates, ₹500 for SC/ST candidates, and ₹300 for PH (Divyang) candidates for one paper, with proportionate increase for candidates opting for both Primary and Junior papers.

The eligibility criteria for UPTET 2026 differ between the Primary and Junior levels. For the Primary Level (Class 1-5), candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree with a Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) or Basic Training Certificate (BTC), passed or appearing in the final year. Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and 50% marks with a B.Ed qualification are also eligible as per the NCTE 2021 norms. For the Junior Level (Class 6-8), candidates need a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 50% marks along with a B.Ed qualification, or a Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks and B.Ed Special Education. Candidates appearing in the final year of these qualifying examinations can also apply provisionally, subject to their producing the qualification certificate at the time of teacher recruitment.

The UPTET examination is conducted in offline OMR-based mode with 150 multiple-choice questions carrying 150 marks for each paper, with a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes per paper. There is no negative marking in UPTET, encouraging candidates to attempt all questions. The Primary paper covers Child Development & Pedagogy, Language-1 (Hindi), Language-2 (English/Urdu/Sanskrit), Mathematics, and Environmental Studies (EVS). The Junior paper covers similar sections but replaces EVS with either Mathematics/Science or Social Studies/Social Science based on the candidate’s subject specialization. The minimum qualifying marks are 60% (90 out of 150) for General category and 55% (82 out of 150) for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates. The UPTET certificate remains valid for lifetime, eliminating the need for candidates to reappear for the examination periodically.
